Former Cayman Island Governor, John Owen has been helping the Blue Iguana Recovery Program to raise money to re-populate the islands with blue iguanas. Owen has helped to raise over $60,000. In 1995 there were no blue iguanas of breeding age left on the islands, today there are more than 1000 with the population growing rapidly, thanks to BIRP and people like Governor Owen.
